Description

Studio-based theoretical course focusing on the relationship between art, human rights, law and urban commons. The curriculum will examine, amongst others, infamous trials (e.x. Brancusi v. United States, Serra v. U.S. General Services Administration, Rogers v. Koons), censorship cases in the field of fine arts, art practices in public space that challenge/and or break the law (e.x. graffiti, protest art, activist art), example of artists that reflect through their projects on unjust legislations (e.x. apartheid in South Africa, segregation laws in USA, abortion laws), human rights violations and all kinds of discriminations.
